Rheinau wakeboard spot

WAKE2WAKE — Rheinau-Freistett
Country: Germany (Baden-Württemberg) · Water: River (Upper Rhine, harbour) · Coordinates: 48.674, 7.912 · Address: Werftstraße 1, 77866 Rheinau-Freistett (Rheinhafen)

Wake2Wake is a boat-towed watersports school on the Upper Rhine, based at the Freistett harbour right on the German–French border near Strasbourg. Unlike a cable park, everything here runs behind a tow boat (a MasterCraft ski/wake boat), which means glassy, controllable water and one-on-one attention rather than a fixed cable circuit. The school caters to everyone from first-timers to advanced riders and pros, and it's the established watersports operation at this spot rather than a self-service facility.

The offering goes well beyond wakeboarding: wakeboard, wakeskate, water-ski, wakesurf, monoski, banana boat and more are all on the menu. Beginners get a theory-and-practice briefing plus a short dry-land intro, and equipment (board, vest) is provided, so you can turn up with nothing. Sessions typically run about 20–30 minutes, or you can book the whole boat for an hour and split the ride time among your group of up to five — which makes it a popular option for birthdays, family days and company outings.

The spot also has a bit of a scene around it: Rheinau-Freistett hosts the "Chill and Ride" boat-wakeboard festival, one of the larger events of its kind in the region.

⚠️ Orientation only, not a guarantee — wind, waves, current and closures change daily. Always check the current forecast and ask local schools; if in doubt, don't go out alone. The biggest danger is usually the current, not the wave height.
