Note that there is no dedicated surf school or surf shop at the spot, so you'll need to bring your own gear and know-how.

Broadly a warmer-season spot, in line with comfortable bathing temperatures and the recreation-area character. Summer is the natural time to go, when the lake is pleasant for swimming and casual paddling; the wind, such as it is, remains occasional throughout.

The Blausee is an easy, low-stress place — its value is precisely that it's calm, shallow-feeling and unintimidating for first-timers.
