One of the most famous waves in the world: a long, fast right-hand point break that, in a big south-west swell, runs through several sections – from Kitchen Windows via Magnatubes and Boneyards to Supertubes, Impossibles and The Point. On good days, rides of several hundred metres are possible. The town lies about 75 km west of Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

Usually around 15–19 °C in winter, noticeably colder during upwelling events. A 4/3 mm wetsuit is standard; booties help on the rocky entry.

The wave generally works across a wide tidal range. At low tide it runs faster and hollower; at high tide some sections soften.
No specific water-use restrictions known. During competitions (e.g. a WSL event), parts of the point may be closed temporarily.
Extensive surf infrastructure with surf shops, board shapers, surf schools, accommodation and restaurants, many within walking distance of Supertubes.
Gqeberha airport (PLZ), about 1 hour by car via the N2. From Cape Town along the Garden Route about 8–9 hours. A rental car is recommended.

Einer der bekanntesten Wellen der Welt: ein langer, schneller Rechts-Pointbreak, der bei großem Südwest-Swell über mehrere Sektionen läuft – von Kitchen Windows über Magnatubes und Boneyards bis Supertubes, Impossibles und The Point. An guten Tagen sind Ritte von mehreren hundert Metern möglich. Der Ort liegt rund 75 km westlich von Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

Im Winter meist etwa 15–19 °C, bei Auftriebsereignissen spürbar kälter. Neopren 4/3 mm ist Standard, Schuhe für den Einstieg über Felsen sind sinnvoll.
Strömungsampel: 🟡 Gelb – bei großem Swell 🔴 Rot
Die Welle funktioniert grundsätzlich über einen weiten Tidenbereich. Bei Niedrigwasser läuft sie schneller und hohler, bei Hochwasser werden einzelne Sektionen weicher.
Keine besonderen Befahrensregeln bekannt. Bei Wettbewerben (z. B. einem WSL-Event) können Teile des Points zeitweise gesperrt sein.
Ausgeprägte Surf-Infrastruktur mit Surfshops, Board-Shapern, Surfschulen, Unterkünften und Restaurants, viele davon in Laufweite zu Supertubes.
Flughafen Gqeberha (PLZ), ca. 1 Stunde mit dem Auto über die N2. Von Kapstadt über die Garden Route ca. 8–9 Stunden. Mietwagen empfehlenswert.
